If I can share one fabulous beauty tip, it is this:
Order yourself a big bottle of Blue Cross!!
A 32 oz bottle will last for quite awhile and set you back less than $10, including shipping.
Use once a week and your feet will be as soft as a baby's bottom. I swear.
Dab on with cotton balls or pour into a tray and soak your feet for a few minutes. Then buff away the dry skin with a wash cloth.
And if you want to take it a step further, use orange wood cuticle pushers for a little pedicure and grab a favorite bottle of nail polish.
For more products and detailed steps on getting a salon quality pedicure at home, read 'Walking Pretty' in the first issue of House of Fifty, page 52. But just the above will do quite fine as well!
Enjoy your summer ~ it's my favorite time of year!

Just ordered mine - thanks for the recommendation. Oh and if you want to get rid of the look of worn beaten dried out feet - I have always found that a lotion of a high concentration of Alpha Hydroxy slathered on the feet at night and after a shower - just gets rid of that old dead skin and your feet look like new in the morning. You have to use for a few days to see best results - but I would always suggest that it become part of your night time routine.
ReplyDeleteI believe there is a lotion call Alpha Hydrox (10-12%).

I am a hairstylist and I have used this product for years to also remove color from a client's hairline-works better than a designated color remover(hint for all you girls who color at home!) You should be able to get this at any beauty supply store! You shouldn't have to order it and wait....it is probably a lot less expensive this way! Thanks for sharing this great tip!
ReplyDeleteYes, a reader wrote me and said it is available at Sally's Beauty Supply! So great tip to avoid the shipping cost. The lotion is also a good idea...I can't imagine not having this product in my house! Janell
ReplyDeleteI will! With 5 daughters I might need two!
ReplyDeleteI swear by the stuff! Even diluted slightly with warm sudsy water makes for a great soak!
ReplyDeleteAt night I follow up with Amlactin lotion and socks.
I'll be soft and sandle ready!
Good for you Janell for posting about the
less than glamorous but necessary
maintenance that we should never ignore.
