Today Meenal from Maison Marigold is sharing a delightful collection of ikat with us!
Some trends fizzle out after one season, some last a little longer than the others. Then a select few become classics, particularly when they have their origins in cultures dating back centuries. Ikat is one such timeless classic. No matter how often I may have seen this gorgeous textile in fashion or decor, it never fails to attract my attention.
This beautifully hand woven textile always fascinates....
...and there is no denying its amazing versatility.
In fashion:
Be it casual chic...
...or modern eclectic:
Bohemian...
From a statement clutch...
...to the everyday tote.
Ikat oxfords..anyone?
Perfect in accessories for a dash of color.
In decor, from just a cushion that dictates the look, whether monochrome...
...a restrained palette...
...or drama on the floor.
In furniture, Ikat works best on accent pieces.
A DIY console to satisfy your creativity...
...to a quirky chair to indulge your bohemian spirit.
Or, a chic bench for instant elegance.
At times it could be just one chair that adds the punch...
...at others you may need two.
For such a dramatic textile, ikat works surprisingly well when mixed with different patterns.
For those who believe that "too much of a good thing can only be better", ikat clad walls are the way to go.
Whether muted...
...or bold.
A veritable feast for the senses!
Beautiful photos!!
ReplyDeleteI agree I think Ikat is here to stay and it is a classic. It is one type of print that is universal and seems to be able to crossover into many different types of designs. Love all of your examples, great post,Kathysue
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration! I love the print..
ReplyDeleteI am all about ikat lately! My next project is block-printing my boring white curtains with a lovely ikat stencil. Suupa excited.
ReplyDeleteWhat great finds! I adore ikat, and totally want that tote bag.
ReplyDeleteFantastic round-up!
ReplyDeleteI love the brighter palm beachier colors--never seen those in an ikat before.
I picked an ikat to put on a Queen Anne-style arm chair. I really love how it freshens it up!

I love ikat --- as much on a pillow as in wallpaper! And, that last image looks like my friend, Eddie Ross! Who else could put orange, pink and light blue together so well?!
