So I've just become aware there is a "new" trend in the air with an old french classic: Macarons.
The cheerful & absolutely chic San Francisco pastry shop Miette has some of the best around apparently,
even available to order up a box online.
And for some of the prettiest photographs around of Maracons,
there is the Etsty shop Mr. Mo Photography.
Now to be honest, my interest lies purely in the fact they are just so pretty...because I can't actually recall if I've ever actually eaten a Macaron. So don't take my word for it, but I hear they are a "melt-in-your-mouth treat"!
I have been seeing a lot of macaroons in photo lately! Making me hungry...

macarons are divine...light, sweet, a little bit crunchy and chewy all at the same time. perfection when done correctly.
ReplyDeleteI had never eaten a macaron until a few weeks ago. My husband surprised me on my birthday with a box of macarons and a decadent chocolate cake from Miette. I think I could easily get hooked on macarons....delicious!
ReplyDeleteI love love love macarons. We have a french pastry shop down the street that makes some of the best I've ever eaten. Next time you are in Seattle stop by La Reve on Queen Anne and you will be rewarded
ReplyDeleteWe went to Paris this summer with our two teens. My 18 year old daughter had heard all about the macaroon rage and insisted we buy a large box of assorted flavors to try. I adore cookies and was expecting to love them, but they tasted awful. They were so pretty to look at but the flavor was terrible. None of the four of us liked them, and we are not a picky bunch when it comes to sweets. Try them for yourself, but I can definitely say I've had better. Also, they are EXPENSIVE per each little cookie. On the plus side, I did not gain any weight!
ReplyDeleteHa, you are the first I've heard of someone not liking them! And in Paris itself, of all places...

Yes, macarons are my favorite now. My good friend makes the best macarons in Vancouver. Check them out on Darryl Bueckert photography's site.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the photos. BTW All the macons you posted looked so delicious.
